Handmade in Traverse City, Michigan, this Leland Blue necklace is so pretty! Leland Blue is a locally coveted "stone" that is technically slag (byproduct of iron smelting) from the old iron foundry that provided a great deal of industry on the Leelanau Peninsula in the late 1800s and early 1900s. No longer in existence, the factory left behind this lovely blue glass-like substance that is wonderful in jewelry.
